basements – frequently asked questions
Can I just dry line my walls in the basement?
No. Basement conversions require specialist products to control water ingress and dampness. Just dry lining walls can allow the build up of moisture and can lead to outbreaks of Dry Rot. Even though your basement may not be flooded now, it could flood in the future (Source, BS 8102:2009).
